Youth
Opportunities for Youth at Immanuel Lutheran
1st-6th Grade: Youth meet 2 Wednesdays a month for fellowship, teaching, games, songs, crafts, and treats.
5th-6th Grade: Have 4 outings a year of fun and service.
Junior High Youth: Youth in Grades 7-8 meet twice a month on Sunday nights for Youth Group including small groups, large group teaching, games and food. Junior High Youth also have a chance to go on faith-building weekend retreats, a ski trip, lock-ins, and fun/service outings once a month throughout the school year.
Senior High Youth meets weekly with a wide variety of options for spiritual growth. Sunday School on Sunday mornings, Breakfast Club on Friday mornings at the Big House, Youth Group on Wednesday nights, Small Groups, monthly fun outings, service opportunities, and community-wide events. High School Youth also have the opportunities to go on weekend faith-building retreats, a mission or adventure trip in the summer, a ski trip. The High School Youth lead worship services during Holy Week and serve suppers at the church during Lent. The youth can also serve as student leaders with the elementary and junior high ages and participate in a worship band. There is a HS Leadership Team that meets once a month to plan and organize activities for the youth group.
Education
A variety of education opportunities exist for youth through our:
Sunday School. Meets each Sunday morning from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m.
Trinity Classes meet each Wednesday night for youth in grades 6 - 7 for intensive study of important Bible stories to inspire youth for years to come.
Confirmation Classes for youth in grades 8 - 9, meet each Wednesday night preparing youth for fuller participation in the confirmed membership of our church. Bible overview and Lutheran doctrine are stressed with emphasis on Holy Communion, Baptism, the Lord's Prayer, the Creeds and the Ten Commandments.
